1. Reduce size. The fastest way to remove high frequencies and detail is to shrink the image. In this case, 指数平滑法 (ETS) 算法 shrink it to 8x8 so that there are 64 total pixels. Don't bother keeping the aspect ratio, just crush it down to fit an 8x8 square. This way, the hash will match any variation of the image, regardless of scale or aspect ratio.
2. Reduce color. The tiny 8x8 picture is converted to a grayscale. This changes the hash from 64 pixels (64 red, 指数平滑法 (ETS) 算法 指数平滑法 (ETS) 算法 64 green, and 64 blue) to 64 total colors.
3. Average the colors. Compute the mean value of the 64 colors.
4. Compute the bits. This is the fun part. Each bit is simply set based on whether the color value is above or below the mean.
5. Construct the hash. Set the 64 bits into a 64-bit integer. The order does not matter, just as long as you are consistent. (I set the bits from left to right, top to bottom using big-endian.)
The resulting hash won't change if the image is scaled or the aspect ratio changes. Increasing or decreasing the brightness or contrast, or even altering the colors won't dramatically change the hash value. And best of all: this is FAST!

Enhanced Transmission Selection (ETS) Algorithm

Enhanced Transmission Selection (ETS) is a transmission selection algorithm (TSA) that is specified by the IEEE 802.1Qaz draft standard. This standard is part of the framework for the IEEE 802.1 Data Center Bridging (DCB) interface.

Transmission selection based solely on IEEE 802.1p priority levels can lead to situations in which higher-priority traffic blocks lower-priority traffic. ETS ensures fairness by allowing a minimum amount of bandwidth to be allocated to 指数平滑法 (ETS) 算法 traffic classes that are assigned to different 802.1p priority levels.

Each traffic class is allocated a percentage of the available bandwidth on the data link between directly connected peers. If a traffic class doesn't use its allocated bandwidth, ETS allows other traffic classes to use the available bandwidth that the traffic class is not using.

NDIS Quality of Service (QoS) traffic classes are defined through OID method requests of OID_QOS_PARAMETERS. This OID request contains an NDIS_QOS_PARAMETERS structure which specifies the following traffic class attributes:

The number of traffic classes that is specified by the NumTrafficClasses member.

The TSA used by the traffic class. This is specified by the TsaAssignmentTable member. If 指数平滑法 (ETS) 算法 the table element for the traffic class is set to NDIS_QOS_TSA_ETS, the traffic class uses the ETS TSA.

The 802.1p priority that is assigned to the traffic class. A traffic class can be assigned to one or more priority levels. However, each priority level can only be assigned to one traffic class.

The bandwidth allocated for the traffic class. This is specified by the TcBandwidthAssignmentTable member. This table is only valid for traffic classes that use the ETS TSA.
